MSA Financial is an authorized Managing General Partner (MGA) of numerous large and well known financial institutions, whose products it distributes through licensed independent financial security advisors. MSA Financial has been awarded numerous awards in recognition of the firm’s achievements. MSA Financial is licensed in the province of Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta and British Columbia and is governed by the regulatory bodies of those provinces. MSA Financial is also a member of Chambre De La Sécurité Financière. MSA Financial is located in Montreal, Quebec and offers a wide range of life and health insurance products, savings and retirement plans. After spending 4 years in banking at CanadaTrust, David joined the insurance industry through the brokerage distribution network. As the senior sales director for life and living benefits, David supports and provides service to MSA brokers in matters that relate to all critical illness products, long term care products, life insurance products and multiple fiscal topics surrounding insurance of persons concepts. David has developed many insurance concept and supporting tools that MSA brokers can use and customize for their own client base. Group presentations or one-on-one coaching is always available to all MSA financial advisors. Having been licensed for over 12 years, David’s advice is based on current and relevant issues all brokers face on a day to day basis. As a proud member of the MSA team, David’s priority is to ensure a high level of customer service combined with accurate tips and tools that will benefit all MSA partners.

Rick started his insurance career with the Prudential Insurance Company of England in the early 1970s.

After spending 9 years in the career network, Rick joined Crown Life Special Services in order to develop disability income products for the brokerage network. Rick started at MSA in the early 1990s and made it his passion to assist and develop brokers. Shortly thereafter, he was promoted to VP Broker Development and continues today to offer assistance whenever it is needed with an open door policy. Rick is energetic, sociable and always willing to go the distance. As the most senior member of the MSA sales team, his understanding of the insurance industry is a true asset all MSA brokers and partners can benefit from.

Pauline earned her Financial Planner certification from UQAM, her AVA from the University of Laval and also holds an insurance of person license and a mutual fund license since 1995.

Pauline started her career at Montreal Life in 1978 followed by 8 years at Royal Life where she held the position of branch administrator. In 1995, Pauline left Royal life to start a second career in the brokerage distribution channel. Pauline has also been involved with the AIAPQ and La Chambre de la Securité Financière, organizing many industry activities, since 1995. Her investment, insurance and managerial experience has made Pauline a very successful Vice-President of Business Development, the position she current holds at MSA. Pauline’s passion for this business, her devotion and loyalty are some of the reasons why she has become one of the top in the industry. Her energy and positive attitude is contagious making her a valuable asset to MSA and all its partners.

Connor Kuppek

In 2017 Connor graduated from Concordia University with a Bachelor of Arts degree with a major in Economics. In 2017 Connor also attained his financial security advisor license with the AMF, becoming one of the first to do so through the new LLQP online process that provides licensing throughout Canada. In 2018 Connor successfully obtained a group insurance and a group annuity plans licenses.

Being a proud member of the MSA marketing staff, Connor brings a young and enthusiastic approach to the business. He is passionate about helping brokers to ensure that they have the best service possible along with providing the most trusted recommendations on a product front for both brokers and their prospective clients. Connor is able to assist you with quotations, online applications, compliance and completion of financial needs analysis. His understanding of the insurance industry helps him ask the right questions in order to help you grow your business.

Gérald experience and educational background gave him the ability to provide advisors with day to day business needs. Gérald has developed a vast knowledge in products from life insurance, to critical illness, disability, travel, simplified issued, investments and many others, you name it, Gérald will be happy to assist you. As a Business Development Director, Gérald supports and provides service to MSA brokers in matters that relate to all Life Insurance, Living Benefits and Investment products. Super friendly and always ready to welcome and assist, his priority is helping brokers to develop their business and his goal is to ensure a high level of customer service that will benefit all MSA brokers.

Michel began his Life Insurance Career in 1982 with North American Life. In 1986, Michel was promoted to assistant sales manager.

From there, Michel went on to become Marketing Manager with Manulife. In 1998, he joined Canada life as a Regional Marketing Consultant. Michel brings 36 years of experience to MSA Financial. His “Certified financial planner” Designation has helped him develop many tools and concepts in Living Benefits, Life insurance and Segregated funds. Michel’s incredible knowledge and skills will be a great asset to be shared with all MSA brokers.

Fen Huang

Fen Huang

Business Development Manager – Recruiting and Coaching

Hsiao Fen Huang graduated from Concordia University in 1991 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accountancy. She started full time at RBC Royal Bank in 1994, serving the affluent niche markets as a financial advisor. In 1997, Fen obtained her Canadian Securities license from the Canadian Securities Institute, followed by a Branch Compliance Officer and Investment Funds in Canada licenses in 2002 from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. In 2002 as well, she was promoted to manage the customer service team of one of the largest RBC West Island branches, and as the main branch compliance officer, she monitored suitability transactions and coached 15 mutual funds licensed advisors and financial planners. Under her leadership and coaching, most of her employees excelled into top sales performers, earning distinguished awards and recognition.

In 2007, Fen obtained licenses in both Insurance of persons and Personal-lines damage insurance to serve and manage the first retail RBC Insurance branch in Quebec. Within two years, Fen’s branch grew from one client at a time to the top RBC Insurance retail branch out of four Quebec insurance branches. In December 2010, she continued to expand her insurance knowledge and joined Sun Life Financial as a financial security advisor. After 6 years at Sun Life, she became an independent financial security advisor. With over 10 years of insurance of persons experience and over 25 years of mutual funds experience, her passion for business development, networking and needs-based solutions have made her successful in helping advisors in the investment and insurance business.

As a proud member of the MSA team, Fen’s priority is to assist and support brokers’ needs, such as preparing quotations, financial needs analysis, Reason Why letters, disclosure and replacement forms, and all necessary compliance requirements. She also assists advisors by working with them one-on-one on potential and pending cases, how and when to ask for client referrals, how to use Project 100 to grow your business, etc. For segregated funds, she helps them complete an investor profile, determine suitability of funds based on risk tolerance, investment objectives, time horizon and investor personal information, be complying with the completion of the mandatory “Know Your Client” form, and understand why the section “Source of Funds” is an important part of the investment application. In short, her goal is to assist brokers and deliver a high level of broker services since Fen is passionate about recruiting and developing brokers to be successful in the industry.

Daniel Poirier

Business Development Manager, Living benefits and Life Insurance

Daniel started his business career with the Royal Bank of Canada in 1969, he held various positions in marketing and as an account manager.

In 1992, Daniel became a life insurance advisor for Mutual of Omaha and in 1998 he joined the brokerage distribution network as a specialist in living benefits.
